Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI)
A partnership program with The County of Santa Cruz that provides employment services to transition age youth and adults referred through the County Prevention and Early Intervention team (PEI). Community Connection’s “Employment Specialist” provides assistance and support in finding and maintaining employment, pursuing educational goals and gaining experience through volunteer work. Community Connection develops employment opportunities through stipend funds to train and facilitate a fast track to employment. Opportunities will be offered through a variety of creative group and individualized approaches designed to encourage participants to gain first time job experience less than 20 hours per week. (“Cute as a Button” farmer’s market opportunity). Opportunities will be appropriate to the age, culture and skill level of individual served by the PEI team. The Peer Advocate works closely with participants to mentor and guide individuals to wellness in the community. Appointment times are available Monday-Thursday 8:30 am-4:00 pm.
